Our Church- Who and where we are

We are a small group of ordinary people, made up of young and older adults, their families, children and  young people who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, God's only Son and belong to his Church which is spread out in different places all over the world. We love to meet together as one joyful family, to call together on our Father in heaven.

In Mains Parish Church we meet in the church building on Claverhouse Road (by the roundabout with Old Glamis Road). When we come together to worship God we find him speaking to us in the Bible- a book in which we find his help for our lives as individuals and as a group of his people.

We take the Bible seriously. When its message is proclaimed clearly, the voice if the living God is heard clearly today, with transforming power. That's why our priority is to open the Bible and let it speak, wherever and whenever we can.

Our Minister

Rev John M Pickering comes to us after a ministry of 7 years in a rural charge. After a career of over 20 years teaching science he heard God's call to the ministry. He studied at New College, Edinburgh and was ordained in 1997. He is married to Margaret and they have a son Thomas who is married to Claire and a daughter Gillian, studying at Aberdeen University.
